Because of the nature of the courses that students are taking, with assessments spread throughout the year, and the need to maximise English Language skills, international students should not ask for leave to go home during term time. Staying in New Zealand during term holidays is advisable for academic purposes. Students are under the care of the school during the period of their enrolment as per their Offer of Place.
Students ignoring this regulation will not be protected if they miss assessments, and their absences will be included in the Immigration New Zealand attendance letters.
Students or their parents should contact the Director if there are special reasons for leave during the school year.
