Clear space in your diary for the MAGS Art Show, which will be held at the school from August 17-19.
This is the fifth year that the Art Show has been held and it will feature exhibits from more than 130 artists and more than 50 students.
Funds raised from the show go back into the school, and this is the largest MAGS Foundation fundraising event in the school year.
The popular Gala Night is on Friday, 17 August and is a ticketed R18 event with nibbles and alcohol being part of the ticket price. This event has sold out each year, and those attending are the first to view the artworks for sale. Gala Night tickets go on sale at the beginning of July.
Over the weekend of the 18-19 August the show is free and open to the general public with an onsite cafe serving refreshments, cakes and nibbles.
At the Gala Night function and throughout the weekend our talented Music, Dance and Performance Art students will be entertaining guests.
Last year saw the debut of the People’s Choice award, which received a large number of votes. It will feature again this year with the public getting to vote for their favourite student artwork.
Showing student artwork is one of the key things that differentiates the MAGS Art Show from other school art shows. This is a great learning experience because students discover what goes into the preparation for the show, how to present their works, how to set selling prices, the process of selling work, receiving payment and feedback.
Artwork that we will feature at the Art Show is showcased on the its website here on Facebook here and on Instagram here
