Nearly 1200 students took part in the MAGS 2017 Cross Country races on Tuesday and Thursday, 9 and 11 May, with the school farm providing ideal terrain.
The event is compulsory for Year 9 and 10 students, with some Senior students who are keen on distance running joining in too. A number of staff members also took part, including Acting Headmaster Mr Paul McKinley, who ran all four races. The boys had pleasant conditions on Tuesday, and wet weather did not deter the girls on Thursday.
The route around the school fields and farm comprised 3-4km for Year 9 and 10 students, and nearly 6km for Senior students. The top place-getters in each category will go on to compete against runners from other schools over the next few months.
