Headmaster Mr Patrick Drumm announced his Prefect leadership team for 2018 on Wednesday, December 6.
Head Boy is Isaac Munro, Head Girl is Hannah Houghton, Deputy Head Boy is Billy McColl and Deputy Head Girl is Rosarina Pillissi.
All are top academics, and have excelled in other areas of the school. Isaac is the 2017 Victor Ludorum for his achievements with our national champion Softball team, winning the top Skiing award, and excellence in Swimming, Waterpolo and Rugby. He has also been involved in student service groups such as Students Against Dangerous Driving and the Relay for Life fundraising event. His elder brother and sister, Eric and Jessica, were Deputy Head Prefects in their final years at MAGS.
Hannah was named the 2017 Best All Round Girl in Year 12 for, among other things, her achievements as a violinist in the school orchestras, and as an athlete in distance running and hockey. She is a member of the Environment Club and has attained the Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award at Silver level.
Billy is a talented musician and actor who won this year’s Choir Award and Jazz Award, and a Media Studies award for his film-making. He also took part in a number of service activities this year such as Peer Mediation and the Relay for Life.
Rosarina won a Pasifika Academic Excellence Award this year, was on the Academic Council, a Homework Centre tutor, a Peer Mediator, in the Samoan Cultural Group and played hockey and volleyball.
Mr Drumm said the group were outstanding role models for their fellow students, who exemplified the MAGS Way set of values in their achievements across the school’s four pillars of academia, sport, arts and service.
“I look forward to working with Isaac, Hannah, Billy and Rosarina in helping lead our student body in 2018,” said Mr Drumm.
