The Hall of Distinction was established in 1997 as part of the 75th Jubilee celebrations. Membership of the Hall is an honour for past masters of the School who have significantly contributed to the spirit of the School and for Albertians in recognition of their efforts and achievements in the community.
There were fourteen inaugural members and others are inducted on special occasions.
Nominations for the Hall of Distinction can be made by any Albertian (all alumni and staff of Mount Albert Grammar School are considered Albertians).
The nominee must be an Albertian who has made a significant and outstanding contribution to the School, the community or their vocation.
Nominations must be made without contacting the nominee and should be accompanied by:
- a completed Nomination Form,
- a Curriculum Vitae or detailed summary of relevant achievements of the nominee,
- a letter of nomination from the nominator; and
- at least one letter of support for the nomination from an Albertian (other than the nominator).
All nominations will be received by the Albertians Association and put forward for review by a panel of three existing members of the Hall of Distinction (to be appointed by the Albertians Association Executive Committee from time to time). This panel will review the application and supporting documentation and if appropriate, recommend the nominee to the Albertians Association Executive Committee for inclusion in the Hall of Distinction.
The Albertians Association will use reasonable endeavours to appoint three members of the Hall to the review panel but where this is not possible, the Albertians Association will carefully consider and appoint an appropriate representative to the panel to review the nominations.
A successful nominee will be notified in writing by the Albertians Association.
Current panel: Greg Taylor, Michael Bassett, Russell Stone.
You can send your nomination by email to [email protected]
