Day 2 of the 3 day competition saw MAGS senior girls play Waiuku College out at Bruce Pulman Park.
Evenly matched at 1 set each MAGS won the last set to make it 2 – 1.
Day 2 of the Championships saw Mt Albert Grammar School play Avondale College at Pulman Park, Papakura losing 0 – 3.
Lynfield College batted first at Mount Albert Grammar School and were 10 wickets down for 28 in 10 overs.
Amongst the wicket takers Emily Thurman was 7/6 including a hat trick for the last three wickets.
MAGS were 29/2 at close of play.
MAGS had 22 athletes entered in the Aquathon held out at St Kentigern College.
This consisted of a swim and then a 2 km lap – run 1,2 or 3 times depending on the age.
The largest majority of entrants was in the Intermediate group. Each group consisted of indiviual girls, boys and then teams. This year the tide was too low to dive into so it was a push off muddy start.
The mixed touch team played both Kaipara College and Mt Roskill Grammar School at Cox’s Bay winning the latter game 4 – 0.
Two records were broken at the 2019 MAGS Athletics Championships at Mt Smart Stadium on Wednesday, February 20.
Held annually this event started out at Mt Smart stadium at 8 am to accommodate the hurdles.
