MAGS playing at home made an excellent 178/3 off their 20 overs, and held EGGS to 142/2 in reply.
Traditionally held at Mt Smart Stadium, most of the MAGS Athletics Championships was held on the school grounds this year due to Covid restrictions. Both the track races and the High Jump were compellingly competitive.
Held at the Aquatic Centre on the grounds. There were some very competitive races among the different age levels.
Sport gets underway in the new school year with MAGS playing Westlake Boys at Westlake. MAGS made 184/6 off 50 overs with Westlake failing to match that total.
Undefeated in pool play, MAGS made it to the final of the One Day Tournament at Avondale Racecourse against Epsom Girls Grammar but lost that match 1-8.
The only MAGS team to make it out of pool play, through the quarter, semi’s and into the final against St Dominic’s College which unfortunately they lost.
For the first time MAGS failed to make it out of pool play, beaten by Auckland Girls Grammar by 1 point but also St Peters Cambridge.
MAGS traditionally field a Yr 9, 10 and Premier team in this competition held annually at the Auckland Netball Centre. Unfortunately Yr 9 did not progress from pool play.
