The annual Combined Points Tournament on hold during Covid restrictions was again played at the Auckland Netball Centre. There were only three divisions this year with no senior A – perhaps reflecting the increased number of schools competing.Unfortunately the Premiers fell 11 – 13 to Epsom Girls Grammar and failed to progress.
Played out at Kelston, the home side quickly scored two tries in the first quarter of the game with MAGS left to play catch up in a must-win game. Kelston Boys High eventually won 21 – 11.
A spirited haka by both teams was the introduction to the televised game at Sacred Heart College.
MAGS played McLeans College at the Avondale turf scoring two goals.
A tense close game followed with Epsom Girls winning by 1.
On a wet gloomy day at Eastdale reserve the Junior Girls beat St Kentigern College 4 – 3 in the semi-finals.
A game with no result in doubt, finishing with MAGS scoring 45 – 10.
Played away on the coldest day of the year the final score left the teams even at 3 – 3.
A very hard fought game at Sacred Heart College with a cohort of their vocal school house supporters. MAGS never surrendered their lead finishing the game ahead 64 – 60.
