Fresh from winning the NZ Softball title MAGS played Auckland Grammar School for 1st/2nd place in the Auckland competition.
The ball was hit out of the ground 4 times for 4 automatic home runs and the final score was 10 – 0. 4th Innings mercy rules.
The NISS Tournament where MAGS Premier Boys team played Kristin School out at West Wave Aquatic Centre.
Unfortunately having been relatively even throughout 3 of the 4 quarters MAGS lost 8 – 13.
The second day of the T20 Tournament out at Parr’s Park, Glen Eden MAGS played Botany Downs in the morning and St Peters College in the afternoon game. They were 133/9 off their 20 overs. MAGS could only make 90 all out and finished 6th in the competition.
The MAGS Girls’ Cricket team played Baradene College out at Lloyd Elsmere Park in Howick making 70/7 off their 20 overs.
Very quickly they had 2 wickets off one of the early overs bowled.
MAGS has about 40 students that take part in the sport of Orienteering. This urban sprint was around the three campus at Mount Roskill Grammar School and is graded according to school years.
Juniors run around 1km, Intermediate around 2 and Senior (Yr 12/13} around 3km.
A visiting Singapore Sports School played two MAGS netball teams today in the school gymnasium.MAGS had previously won the International Youth Sports championship in Singapore earlier,beating the South African finalists.
This event was held out at St Kentigern College and this year involved only swimming in the Tamaki River and running.
MAGS had athletes in all divisions – Under 14, 16 and 19, some independent and others racing as a team.
MAGS played Mount Roskill Grammar School on the No 1 ground at MAGS. MRGS scored 98/5 off their 20 overs.
