In the semi-final of the Central Zone competition MAGS played Epsom at Grey Lynn Park both having scored an equal number of goals.
Play then entered drop off and when down to three players Epsom scored the winning try.
The Junior Gold Girls played Parnell College and lost in the gym at MAGS.
The Junior Boys team played Tangaroa College at Eden-Roskill Club grounds.
The final score was 19 – 3 to MAGS.
MAGS’ U15 Boys Sevens team completed the trifecta of AKSS Sevens Rugby titles following on from the Senior Boys and Girls wins. Unfortunately the school could not field an U15 Girls team because the girls had too many commitments.
The U15 Boys came from behind to win the final against De la Salle College 34-14, having beaten National Condor champions Kelston Boys High School in the semi-final.
MAGS played Westlake at Westlake bowling first on a good wicket. Westlake made 342 all out off their 49 overs with the best bowling figures A Ashok with 103 off 10 overs.
In their first game of the season the Junior Girls played Diocesan School winning the fixture at Grey Lynn Park 4 – 0.
The Junior Boys won their game against St Pauls College at Grey Lynn Park 4 – 2.
MAGS Boys stayed undefeated in all their games to win the AKSS Sevens competition played out at the Waitemata Rugby Club.
They joined the Girls who also played undefeated in all their games.
Both MAGS Boys and Girls teams won the Auckland Secondary Schools Rugby Sevens competition held at Waitemata Rugby Club, qualifying themselves for the NZ Condor Sevens. Both teams won every game they played.
MAGS Premier Boys Lacrosse team finished runners-up to Rosmini College in their competition after losing 4-6 in a hard-fought game at Auckland Grammar School.
