MAGS opened the batting and posted 274 with two players making centuries. St Kent’s were restricted to 175 in reply, giving MAGS a 99-run win.
The Boys U15 team could not repeat last years win instead going out in the quarter finals to De la Salle’s no 1 team.
Again out at Waitakere Rugby Club the U15 Girls lost their first pool game to Tangaroa College in a close game but won all their other games including the final against Onehunga High School 22 – 7.
The Girls team playing out at Waitemata Rugby Club lost one pool match to Aorere College but won the semi-final against Howick College to meet Aorere again in the final.
This time winning 24 – 14 in the final.
The Boy’s team won all of their pool matches and played De la Salle College in the semi-final which they lost. De la Salle played Kelston in the final and won.
The visiting Kulture Sport team, the Brisbane Titans U13s played MAGS at school. Well ahead at halftime, MAGS went on to win convincingly.
In a contest between the School House Boys and the Day Boys played with an appreciative and vocal audience, the School House Boys narrowly came out on top 29 – 27.
The third of the pool games in Winter Tournament week the team faced Nga Tawa College at North Harbour Hockey.
Though both teams had scored 1 each in the first quarter, Nga Tawa scored 4 more in the next three quarters.
In the second of the pool matches of the NISS Netball, MAGS Premiers faced Macleans College at the North Shore Netball centre. It was an easy win 53 – 13 after beating Mt Maunganui College in the morning 30 – 25.
