The team played Rutherford College ( 11 – 3 Win) and Rangitoto College (12 – 0 Win) to advance to the semi-final where they played Kelston Boys High School. Another handy win ( 13 – 0) meant they moved to the final against Rutherford College. They emerged victorious with a final score of 13 – 0.
The Senior Girls played Avondale College out at May Rd, and won 8 – 2, and also entered in the One Day Tournament two days later, taking the title with a 3-0 win over One Tree Hill College in the final.
Played at Cornwall Park it was unusually not deferred as many games are, MAGS lost this one 6 – 7.
Played out at Macleans College, one could be nervous that the 122/7 figures of MAGS innings might be insufficient.
MAGS playing at home made an excellent 178/3 off their 20 overs, and held EGGS to 142/2 in reply.
Traditionally held at Mt Smart Stadium, most of the MAGS Athletics Championships was held on the school grounds this year due to Covid restrictions. Both the track races and the High Jump were compellingly competitive.
Held at the Aquatic Centre on the grounds. There were some very competitive races among the different age levels.
Sport gets underway in the new school year with MAGS playing Westlake Boys at Westlake. MAGS made 184/6 off 50 overs with Westlake failing to match that total.
Undefeated in pool play, MAGS made it to the final of the One Day Tournament at Avondale Racecourse against Epsom Girls Grammar but lost that match 1-8.
The only MAGS team to make it out of pool play, through the quarter, semi’s and into the final against St Dominic’s College which unfortunately they lost.
