Farm visits for educational purposes (other schools, learning centres, kindergartens etc.) can be booked via the manager Deb Crump. These visits can be customised to suit your group but can involve viewing the milking of dairy sheep, feeding the chickens, feeling the wool and the opportunity to go and visit the new native tree plantings.
We have picnic tables that can be used for morning tea. Our priority is the safety the of visitors, so we like to limit groups to around 35. This ensures all visitors have a good experience and will be safe on-farm.
This service is complementary to the daily farm workings of educating our students; therefore we ask for a koha of $5 per person and have a minimum charge of $100 per visit. We encourage you to get a good group together so you can cover this cost and make the morning worthwhile.
Wet weather can be problematic and take away some of the fun so a degree of flexibility may be needed. Toilets and first aid kits are on site, and a comprehensive hand washing facility is provided. We ask that you sign in with the manager. Please select a group leader that will always have a phone on them during the visit.
Koha:
A Koha of $5 per person is expected which can be discussed with the farm manager. Because of the busy nature of the farm, we ask for a minimum koha of $100 regardless of group size. An invoice can be generated after the farm visit.
Location:
The farm is located on Alberton Ave adjoining the southern boundary of Mount Albert Grammar School. There is no parking for buses, however there is a bus bay on Alberton Ave outside Mount Albert Grammar School which is available. Parking for cars may be available but please discuss this with the farm manager.
If there are any particular requirements we can help you with to make your tour more meaningful, please let Ms Crump know when making your booking.
We look forward to welcoming your group to the farm.
