Commerce

Commerce aims to develop knowledge and skills in areas related to consumer choice, producer decisions, business operations, employment issues, entrepreneurs, finance and financial literacy so that students are able to make informed and responsible decisions.

We offer courses in

  • Accounting (Year 10, NCEA Level 1, NCEA Level 2, NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship).  This is a university approved subject which offers UE literacy and numeracy credits.  All courses in the Senior school are endorsable for NCEA.
  • AgriBusiness (Year 12, expanding to Year 13 in 2018). This course is endorsable for NCEA (click here to read more about our new AgriBusiness course)
  • Business Studies (Year 10, NCEA Level 1, NCEA Level 2, NCEA Level 3).  This is a university approved subject with offers UE literacy credits.  All courses in the Senior school are endorsable for NCEA.
  • Commerce Studies (Financial Literacy) is offered in  Years 12 and 13.
  • Economics (Year 10, NCEA Level 1, NCEA Level 2, NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship). This is a university approved subject with offers UE literacy credits.  All courses in the Senior school are endorsable for NCEA.

Career pathways

Many students go to study at tertiary level for a B.Com, B.Bus, B.A,  B.Sc (Economics major) or LLB.
