Albertian Mr Ted van Arkel, who was inducted into the Mount Albert Grammar School Hall of Distinction in 2016, revisited his school on Monday, July 3, to speak to students.
Mr van Arkel is a Director of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, and is involved with a number of private and public companies. He spoke to Year 13 Accounting students about one those companies, Restaurant Brands, and why it is one of New Zealand’s most successful. The talk tied in with the students’ assignment on how to read companies’ annual reports and draw conclusions from them.
Accounting teacher Ms Sarah Hayes said it was hugely beneficial for the students to hear from an experienced director with such a distinguished record in New Zealand business.
